As I mentioned with the Advanced Batting Metrics, there’s a point where your eyes glaze over, but here they are nonetheless.
What jumps out here? Justin Verlander will be missed, Pressly was impressive and Montero was a steal.
That and the Astros got more WAR from Ryne Stanek, Bryan Abreu and Jake Odorizzi than Lance McCullers, Jr.
While the roles appear to be set for the 2023 season for the most part, there’s still a lot of intrigue to how it all works out.
Can Framber be a true ace? Will Javier breakout and win 15 or more? When will McCullers, Jr. be able to pitch? How bad is Brown’s back?
Similar to the batting numbers I put out yesterday, I’ll tinker around and see which ones resonate during the season and add or delete as warranted.
The new season is less than a week away. It’s almost time to roll.
Appreciate everyone that takes the time to read.
