January 1 - 2.73 miles

When contemplating this challenge I knew there would be rainy days, days I’m sick and days that, for whatever reason, won’t allow me to walk, like January 12th when I have a medical procedure scheduled. 

I woke up this morning to 46 degrees and a 16 MPH wind. Not ideal conditions, but this is where setting the goal with numbers attached kicks in and drives me forward.

That’s not cold for a lot of people, but I live in Texas and we’re reversed here - 95 is not too hot, but 46 is pretty cold.

At this rate I’ll arrive at Cadillac Ranch on July 4, which would be exactly one year from my injury.

Today’s route took me out of my neighborhood and on to Farm to Market Road 1626, where I’ll be for a couple of days before connecting with Texas-45 W.

In the coming days, I’ll pass through the far west edge of Buda, TX before hitting the Austin city limits.
