Bullpen Usage
Maton had a struggle for the first time in a long time and Abreu threw more pitches than he needed to also. Pressly did get up and warm a bit in 9th.
Today’s Pitching Matchup
This one favors the Astros in a big way. Look at Javier’s K% vs. the Angels. Yo.
K Prop
The market is at 6.5, my number is way over that given Javier has struck out 48.6% of the Angels he’s faced. Over.
Odds
Astros are -180, so you know the drill: Astros -1.5 at +112.
Projected Standings
Astros inching toward that century mark.
May not mean anything note of the day
While Ryan Pressly has the highest leverage index of relievers, as you would expect from the closer, it’s Hector Neris that has the highest average leverage when entering the game at 1.53.
This makes sense as Pressly almost always starts with a clean inning and Neris sometimes comes in (Thursday, for example) with men on. Neris has stranded 93.8% of runners.
Also, per Fangraphs, Neris has 13 shutdowns and 1 meltdown on the season.
