Bullpen Usage
Pressly and Neris have gone back to back. Likely unavailable tonight.
Today’s Pitching Matchup
Neither J.P. France nor Andrew Abbott have an experience against the opponent.
K Prop
The number for France is 5.5 and, of course, it’s no bet for me, with no experience against the Reds.
Odds
Astros -196 and +104 -1.5. The offense is so wildly inconsistent I think I’ll sit this one out.
Projected Standings and Luck Rankings
Probably not a lot of surprises here as the Diamondbacks fall back to second, but right now I’m projecting a team under .500 to win the N.L. Central and only 2 100-win teams, both in the A.L., with the Braves within range.
After 69 games the Astros are projecting to the 2nd AL Wild Card spot.
The Marlins continue to be the luckiest team in MLB with a 17-5 record in one-run games and a 3-1 record in extra innings.
Meanwhile, the Royals are 7-9 in one-run games and 0-3 in extra innings and 5 games worse than their expected record of 23-45.
The Astros are 7-7 in one-run games, 0-5 in extras and sit two games below their expected record of 41-28.
May not mean anything note of the day
J.P. France has a 5.94 ERA at Minute Maid Park and a 1.88 ERA on the road.
