EDITOR’S NOTE:
I am in Arlington for Monday’s game and will be in Houston for Tuesday’s game. Updates may be delayed. But I will have new pictures.
Season Projections
Clutch by Chas.
Couldn’t ask much more from Dubin from 4 innings and 1 run against the best offense in baseball.
Astros 162

Bullpen Usage
Wonder how they are going to manage the pen today, with all the leverage arms going yesterday and their long man having started the game.
Today’s Pitching Matchup
Extensive experience for Martin Perez against the Astros, and the Astros have done OK, with Maldonado, Tucker and McCormick among the better numbers.
On the flip side, the old Javier was good against the Rangers, but I have no idea what the recent version we’ve seen will do.
K Prop
The number for Javier is 5.5 and my number came in at 5.47. I wouldn’t have bet anyway, because Javier has not looked the same, striking out only 1 of 22 batters in his last appearance.
Odds
Astros +100 and -196 +1.5. The first is the way to go here if you want to risk your money on an ailing Javier.
Projected Standings
Not much change from yesterday.
May not mean anything notes of the day
Shawn Dubin went 53% fastballs yesterday, touching 96.9 MPH and averaging 94.9 MPH.
Dubin threw 36 fastballs and got 7 called strikes and 4 whiffs with 8 of them put in play.
Since June 1, Chas McCormick leads the Astros in average (.319), OBP (.397), wOBA (.393) and wRC+ 155.
